Message My girlfriend's uncle told me that a couple a months ago when i was giving him a ride down town. He noticed i put it in neutral before braking down a hill in a light while coasting towards the intersection. He told me to coast in gear while breaking then when i'm right in front of the stop put it in neutral. I don't get how this is better for gas mileage. Since i'm puttin it in neutral wouldn't i not be doing/using the force of the engine making it the same as idle thus less gas?
